L’Apòstrof, sccl, is a communication services cooperative. It was started in 1996 by three workers in the linguistic field who saw the cooperative movement as a way of developing their professional careers. It consists of a team of journalists, designers, translators and editors with an extensive professional experience in publishing and publications, graphic design and teaching.
As a co-operative, and as stated by the International Co-operative Alliance, we at l'Apòstrof define ourselves as an autonomous association of persons who have come together voluntarily to make a living by means of a joint-owned, democratically run company.
We make the co-operative values of mutual help, democracy, equality, responsibility, equity and solidarity our own values. We also believe in the ethical values of honesty, transparency, social responsibility and concern for others and the environment.
L'Apòstrof, belongs to the Xarxa d'Economia Solidària and the Federació de Cooperatives de Treball de Catalunya. It is also a member of Coop57, a financial services co-operative, and the Fiare Project, which provides funding for economic activities with a positive social impact. We are likewise a member of the school of co-operativism Aposta, sccl.

L'Apòstrof has participated in the RSE.COOP program for implanting Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the business world, the aim of which is to further sustainable development by means of CSR as well as improving company competitiveness in the markets.
In order to show its commitment with the environment, l'Apòstrof is also a signatory organisation of Barcelona's Compromís Ciutadà per la Sostenibilitat - Agenda 21.
In this sense, and in accordance with this philosophy of responsibility, every year l'Apòstrof presents its social balance sheet with the purpose of both encouraging economic solidarity and identifying the areas where we still need to improve.
